Lightsaber Concept

This is a 3d model I did over the course of a couple weeks from a friends 2d concept art for a lightsaber. I took his design, modelled and UV'd in Blender. Texturing was done it Substance Painter and rendering was done using Unreal Engine 5. This allowed me to take advantage of the new lighting system, Lumen, that was in place. For the reflections I used ray-tracing. I had a lot of fun during this project as I love the Star Wars universe!

I was heavily inspired by Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order with this piece. It is constructed/modelled out of modular parts that in theory, could easily be swapped out with different modelled parts. These parts are the pommel, switch, main body and emitter. They are all seperate pieces. Textures are 4K. Lightsaber blade and emissive materials were edited in Unreal's material shader.
